Welcome to the ninth year of the Jersey Festival of Motoring – a unique event and a unique experience
tailored especially for car enthusiasts of all ages – the cars not the
occupants!
If you are looking for something rather
different with a touch of the Continent, look no further. Jersey is a wonderful destination with its close affinity and history with
Normandy, reflected in its granite
buildings and French road names. Jersey is ideal for “older motoring”, with magnificent scenery, wonderful
beaches and delightful country lanes, not to mention the vast array of
seafood restaurants.
The Festival successfully combines touring
and competitive elements which provide an all-round experience for touring
and sporting cars, including a civic reception in the Town Hall (French
style), visits to various attractions around the island as well as the
chance to see the workings of the lobster and crab viviers, cream tea at one
of the most beautiful manors in the island, participate in a huge static
display of cars from all the clubs in the island as well as take part in the
“Best Period Costume” parade and fun skilled driving, a cavalcade of all the
touring cars down the sprint course on Victoria Avenue with Elizabeth Castle
in the background, opportunities to spectate at the sprints and hill climbs,
and introducing the grand finale of
an all day tour around some of the hidden gems of Jersey – manor houses,
traditional farms and much more, not forgetting two evening meals in the
company of your fellow participants and members of the Jersey Old Motor
Club.
The
Festival welcomes touring cars built up to 31st December 1975,
and particularly Pre-War models, and this year we are welcoming a splendid
array of continental cars from the Club de l’Auto of Paris, who will be
participating in the Festival
